Trustworthiness Evaluation of Web Quality Inspection Tools

In a given organization, if managers want to verify/improve the success and the return of investments of the organization Web site, they should assess the site quality during its entire life-cycle. Unfortunately, the trustworthiness of Web Quality Inspection Tools, which can be used to this aim, is not discussed in literature. The paper faces this problem proposing a thorough evaluation of trustworthiness issues of Web Quality Inspection Tools and of their resulting assessments. The paper focuses on a specific tool, but wide reference is made to other ones as well. Consequently, the research method here presented can be applied to various tools. The trustworthiness ranges of Web site assessments and the consequences of the adopted mathematical methods are discussed on the basis of empirical data and simulations. General strategies which can be adopted to evaluate and improve the trustworthiness of the site quality assessment process within organizations are proposed.
